Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: I currently accept Aetna of PA and Independence Blue Cross (Personal Choice PPO, Keystone Health Plan East HMO, and Independence Administrators). For those with other insurance plans and out-of-network benefits, I am able to provide you with a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. If you have questions regarding your specific insurance coverage, please contact your insurance company directly.

Q: Are you available to talk outside our regularly scheduled session(s)?

A: While I am not “on call” or available 24 hours a day, I will make every effort to return your call and talk to you briefly if you feel you need immediate support. If needed, I will offer you an earlier session. If you find yourself in a psychiatric emergency, the appropriate source of support is to go to your nearest ER or call 988 or 911.

Q: What is your fee?

A: I am happy to discuss my fee with you during our initial phone consultation. For those concerned about financial impact, we can discuss the possibility of a sliding scale (needs-based fee).

Q: How long does therapy take to reach my goal(s)?

A: Every person’s goals and needs are different. Some may feel satisfied or feel they have reached their goals in a number of weeks, while others may find it helpful to embark on longer term therapy to work on more complex concerns. We will work together to develop an appropriate treatment plan for you and your needs.
